Vintage Barbini Art Glass Tangerine Ashtray with Gold Veils
Vintage Barbini art glass ashtray made in Murano, circa 1950’s – 1960’s. This beautiful work of  art is not signed, but another like it has been seen with original label which read: “Venetian, made by Alfredo Barbini, for Weil Ceramics & Glass, Murano, Italy”.
The decor was accomplished by layering dark orange glass between layers of colorless and white glass, with veils of gold aventurine between the glass layers. The gold veils are visible from the upper surface, but hard to catch in images. It was made by hand over 50 years ago.
Four cigar sized rests were achieved by hand tool. Level cradle rests will balance smaller smokes too. Nice deep bowl to catch the debris. Heavy ashtray weighs almost three pounds.
