Pair of vintage ruby Moon and Star pattern ashtrays distributed by LG Wright (U.S.A.) and made by Fenton Art Glass. Circa 1960’s to 1970’s.

Beautiful jewel-like ashtrays just the right size for those small smokes. Deep pattern called Moon and Star. The pattern was popular since the turn of the 19th Century and produced by many U.S. glassmakers.

Both in excellent condition. Measure 4¼” round, ¾” tall. Quality glass shines like a ruby.

Moon and Star, originally named Palace by Adams & Co. in 1888. The mold was purchased by L.E. Smith in the 1930’s.  L.G. Wright was a glass distributing company in West Virginia, U.S.A which purchased this ashtray mold from L.E. Smith. They contracted with the major glass houses in the area (Fenton, Viking, Paden City, Westmoreland) to produce their product.
