Space-age Ellipse ashtray design by Viking Art Glass original catalog part no. 1110.
The oval Ellipse ashtray form first appeared in Viking Art Glass catalogs in 1962. Â Hand-made in Viking’s patented Bluenique color. Beautiful and rich color. High quality vintage glass.
The Viking Bluenique Ellipse ashtray measures 7″ long, 4½” wide and 1.75″ at tallest. Features 3 shallow 1/2″ wide cradle rests, great for all sizes of smokes. Weighs 1½ lbs.
In very good condition. A single tiny impact mark inside the ash receiver can be felt, and only seen when examined closely. Looks like a pipe-tap mark. The base has ‘bottom wear’. Bottom wear is an accumulation of tiny scratches caused by surface contact over the 60 years or so of contact with surfaces. Bottom wear is expected on old glass, and cannot be seen unless the ashtray is turned upside down.
