Huge retro mod party Ghosted Hoot Owl ashtray by Blenko Art Glass in their ‘Antique Green’ color. Made by hand 1970’s – 1980’s USA.
Classy vintage art glass ashtray weighs 5.8 lbs! Blenko Art Glass part no. 702 (second design of 1970). Shown with a 5″ cigar. Measures 10″ wide, 2″ tall and sits on 3 ball feet. The three ball feet raise the ashtray a bit above the surface preventing surface and bottom-wear.
Blown into a mold, then hand tooled. No mold lines. Deep pattern was impressed on the base. The surface of the ash bowl is slightly raised by the owl eyes, caused by the incredibly deep pattern on the reverse. These soft rounded raised glass areas on the surface are perfect for rolling cigar ash, tapping pipes, snuffing out, etc
Conversation starter! Plenty of room for all your smokin’ guests! Stunning by the pool, on the deck or table centerpiece. Makes a great candle and/or paraphernalia holder too.
In excellent condition. One of the largest and coolest ashtrays by Blenko.
